Oscar winner Nicolas Cage will host a new comedic docuseries for Netflix next year call History of Swear Words. The six-episode series will examine the origins, usage and cultural impact of a specific swear word.
The new show was created by Funny or Die and Industrial Media’s B17 Entertainment. Funny or Die’s Mike Farah, Joe Farrell and Beth Belew will executive produce the new show.

Each episode will be 20 minutes long and feature various celebrity guests including Nick Offerman, Sarah Silverman and Joel Kim Booster. The show will also feature linguists, cognitive scientists and lexicographers, which is a fancy word for someone who compiles dictionaries, they will be responsible for explaining the history and cultural importance of the featured swear word.
History of Swear Words is set to premier January 5th on Netflix.
