A Maine couple want you to find the $20,000 they have hid in the state as part of Maine’s 200th anniversary. The couple also started this treasure hunt to inspire visitors to visit different parts of Maine. If you are looking to get in on the treasure hunt you’ll need to buy a deck of cards from Dirigo Treasures LLC (as of this morning their web page is experiencing technical difficulties) which will lead you around the state of Maine to specific locations to discover more clues.
According to the Lincoln County News, “Kurt and his wife created the game to celebrate Maine’s 200 years of statehood.”
Once you get your hands on a deck of cards you’ll have to identify images on each card then travel to that location to find the next clue. After gathering all the clues you’ll be tasked with decoding and finding seven Dirigo stones that are spread throughout the state. Find all seven first and win $20,000.
