October Teacher of the Month

October Teacher of the Month

Do you have a teacher that stands out in the classroom and community, we want to hear about them!

Big congrats to Ms. Nowinski of Almond Bancroft High School! She was nominated by a former student, who said she made her feel welcomed after being out of band for so long!

‘I graduated school last year, but she’s been on my mind since being in college. She’s an amazing band teacher, and a caring person, not just for her students. She takes her kindness and knowledge and spreads it to anyone and everyone. I quit band when I was a 6th grader because I didn’t like the French Horn, but I rejoined my senior year on French Horn and then alto saxophone. Mary made me feel like I did belong in the band, even though I hadn’t been in it for a long time. She takes people in and gives them a sense of comfort and makes you feel like you are important, and I feel like that is something that every kid or adult needs. I believe she should be teacher of the month due to her dedication to the field of not only music, but as an educator. She puts her students first and makes everyone feel like they have a place safe to go to.’
