WHTQ “Flyaway to Mars” Contest Rules Addendum
These contest rules are specific to the WHTQ “Flyaway to Mars” Contest (the “Contest”) conducted by NRG Media, LLC d/b/a WHTQ (the “Company” or the “Station”). Except to the extent specifically set forth below with respect to this specific contest, the Station’s general contest rules apply to this contest. A copy of these specific contest rules and the Station’s general contest rules are available at the Station’s studio at 2301 Plover Road, Plover, WI 54467 during normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and on the contest page on the Station’s website at www.hot967fm.com. These rules are intended to supplement the General Contest rules, however, to the extent that the general contest rules differ from these rules, these rules will govern and control with respect to this Contest.
No purchase necessary. Listeners must be residents of the State of Wisconsin, who are 21 years of age or older as of 03/25/19 to enter this contest.
The WHTQ “Flyaway to Mars” contest will run from 03/25/19 through 05/03/19. The qualifiers of the contest will be determined 03/25/19-05/02/19. The grand prize winner will be determined on 05/03/19.
Who Can Enter
To enter, contestants must be residents of the State of Wisconsin, who are 21 years of age or older. See General Contest Rules for additional restrictions.
How to Play:
Listen to WHTQ during the contest period (03/21 -05/02/19) weekdays Monday – Friday from 6am-5pm for the cue-to-call to be played. When you hear the cue played on WHTQ be caller number 15 to the studio line at (715-345-0967 or 1-888-423-9559). If you are caller (15) fifteen, you will be qualified for the Grand Prize drawing. You may only qualify once throughout the run of the contest. The grand prize will be awarded on 05/03/19 between 7am -8am and announced on air with Kori with a K.
Due to the time delay that exists between the station’s analog over-the-air single ad the station’s online webcast, listeners who listen to the station online may hear the cue-to-call later than listening to the station’s analog over-the-air single. As a result, the odds of an online listener winning this contest may be diminished.
Listeners will be able to register for “Fly Away to Mars” contest starting on 03/25/19 at 6am at www.hot967fm.com. Listeners will need to fill out the form with their name, address, city, state, phone number and date of birth. Then listen weekdays at approximately 12:10 p.m. for a name to be read on air. That listener will also be a finalist for the Grand Prize drawing. Listeners are not required to be listening at this time or call in to get qualified.
Alternative method of entry: if you don’t have computer access, you can send your name, address, telephone number, email address and date of birth to: WHTQ “Fly Away To Mars” Contest Entry, 2301 Plover Road, Plover, WI 54467. Mail entries must be received by May 1, 2019. These names will also be include in the Grand Prize drawing.
The Grand Prize Winner will receive a trip for two to Las Vegas, NV. The trip includes airfare for two (2) people, three (3) nights’ accommodations in one (1) double occupancy room at TBA. Two (2) tickets to see Bruno Mars at MGM Park Theater on Wednesday, September 4, 2019. The trip is provided by and travel must be arranged through, Sun & Fun Media. Travel arrangements must be completed 120 days prior to desire travel date. Certain restrictions may apply. Travel dates are for September 3, 2019 – September 6, 2019, and cannot be changed. The Grand Prize Value: $2,753.48. Taxes, insurance, any applicable baggage fees, and additional expenses are the sole responsibility of the winner.
Station reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value for all contests and giveaways. Prizes are not redeemable for cash. No transfer or assignment of prizes is allowed.
Prizes not claimed within 30 days of being awarded, or in the case of a time-sensitive prize, within its period of usability, shall be considered forfeited and will become property of the Station. Such a prize may be disposed of at the discretion of Station Management.
Winners are responsible for paying all applicable local, county, state and federal taxes on prizes based on the estimated retail value of the prize, as set forth in the contest rules, and will be issued an IRS 1099 form for all prizes won from the Station where the aggregate value of all prizes is $600 or more.
By participating, all participants and winner(s) grant the Company exclusive permission to use their names, characters, photographs, voices, and likenesses in connection with promotion of this and other contests and waive any claims to royalty, right, or remuneration for such use. By participating in the Contest, participants agree that the Company may disclose to third parties personal information obtained from participants in the Contest, including but not limited to name and city of residence, and use such information for marketing and other purposes on a worldwide basis in perpetuity.
All entry blanks, forms devices and materials, as well as all the information contained on or within, gathered during the course of entry, shall become the sole property of the Company to be used, disposed of or destroyed at the discretion of the Company. Such use may include, but is not limited to, enrolling entrant in one or more of the Company’s listener clubs and sending entrant correspondence and solicitations with regard to such clubs.
Winner, on his own behalf and on behalf of Winner’s heirs, successors or assigns, in consideration of participation in a contest, and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which are hereby acknowledged, does hereby COVENANT TO FULLY RELEASE AND FOREVER DISCHARGE NRG Media, WHTQ, contest sponsors, and each of their subsidiaries, affiliates, related entities, directors, officers, employees, agents, and representatives, from and against any and all actions, charges, claims, losses, costs, damages, expenses (including attorneys’ fees and expenses) and liabilities of any kind or character, whether known or unknown, in connection with, arising out of or in any way related to Winner’s participation in or winning of any contest and/or acceptance, award, ownership or use of prize, including transportation and travel, after it is awarded.
Persons who violate any rule, gain unfair advantage in participating in the Contest, or obtain winner status using fraudulent means will be disqualified.
ANY ATTEMPT BY A CONTESTANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY CIRCUMVENT, DISRUPT OR DAMAGE ORDINARY AND NORMAL OPERATION OF THIS CONTEST, TELEPHONE SYSTEMS OR WEBSITE, OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, COMPANY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PARTICIPATE TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
Station is not responsible for crashes or slowdowns caused by network congestion, viruses, sabotage, satellite failures, phone line failures, electrical outages, natural disasters, Acts of God or man. Station is not responsible for any error or technical malfunctions associated that may affect any entrant’s ability to enter, win, or be properly considered in this Contest, regardless of the cause.
Station contests are subject to all applicable laws and regulations and are void where prohibited.
Station reserves the right to change, alter or modify these rules at any time with or without written notice. Material changes to the contest rules will be broadcast on-air, when practical.
Station reserves the right to end or stop any contest at any time and for any reason.
Station and contest sponsors are not responsible for a contestant’s inability to acquire transportation to a location to use or accept the prize, personal circumstances prohibiting participation in a contest or other circumstances beyond their control. Winners may make no substitution or transfer of prize. Nothing in any contest is intended to create or imply any contractual, fiduciary or other rights for the contestant or obligations, except as expressly stated by Station.
Station acts as an agent only and does not control the various aspects of prize including but not limited to transportation, amenities, lodging or meals.
